Welcome to Remote Imaging in West Sussex. An amateur non commercial weather satellite receiving station in Steyning West Sussex UK. This website is dedicated to displaying images from weather satellites. HRPT 3DHRPT Hurricanes OKEAN Weather Station Station equipment The station can receive NOAA HRPT and Meteosat 8 data. NOAA HRPT is received with a Timestep system comprising of the CHRPT receiver, HRPT USB interface, Autotrack 2, PHEMT LNA, 90cms dish with helical feed and a Yaesu 5500 rotor. This system runs on an AMD Athlon 1GHz pc with 512Mb of ram. Software is Timestep's HRPT for Windows and David Taylor's HRPTReader, final image production is with PSP 7. Meteosat 8 is received with a EUMETCAST/HOTBIRD 6 system comprising of a standard ASTRA 85cms offset dish and LNB, Skystar PCI card and an AMD 2800XP pc with 512Mb of ram. Image software is David Taylor's MSG Data Manager, MSG Animator and GEOSatSignal A license is required to receive the data, which is free but a fee of 100 Euros is payable for the Tellique software and USB Etoken. The fee is well worth it as the data available is vast and spectacular. A registration doc can be found here. weather station Now have my Davis Vantage Pro Plus weather station hooked up to the internet. It is set to refresh the website data every 30 minutes and should be online 24hours a day. Please do not rely on the weather information for scientific purposes, although it should give a fair indication of the weather here in Steyning. The station has all the usual sensors including sunshine and UV capability. The station also produces NOAA daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports. Station time is set to GMT/UTC so will differ local UK summer time by -1 hour. |
