introduction
Hi!...My name is Mike Jupp and welcome to my OKEAN-0 images webpage.
This page is mainly about my interest in receiving images from the Ukrainian oceanagraphic weather satellite OKEAN-0.
There are not many images here because this is a fairly illusive satellite, only transmitting near its ground station in the Ukraine.
OKEAN-0 can transmit upto four different image formats. Les Hamilton has a very good page which explains OKEAN image formats.
setup for OKEAN-0 APT
Timestep Proscan 4.1 receiver and LC interface.
AMD 1GHz PC with 256Mb of ram and SB Live card.
Software is Prosat, WXSat and Paint Shop Pro 7.
Antenna is a 13 element 144MHz yagi, with no elevation.
This satellite no longer seems to operate.
PLEASE IGNORE THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY AS THE SENSORS SEEM TO HAVE A PROBLEM
weather station
Now have my Davis Vantage Pro Plus weather station hooked up to the internet.
It is now set to refresh the website data every 15 minutes and should be online 24/7.
Please do not rely on the weather information for scientific purposes,
although it should give a fair indication of the weather here in Steyning.
The station has all the usual sensors including sunshine and UV capability.
The station also produces NOAA daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports.
Weather station time is set to GMT/UTC so will differ local UK summer time by -1 hour.
